projects, performance .. catch?

My goal was to build movement content through performance, paying attention to audience “interaction” during the performance: how did I react to the audience? what did I do to be bold, to protect myself, to win their favor? how did they influence my choice of movement, shape, and timing?

I took some of what I learned into a less formal setting and found out some valuable things about shock and interaction. It made me think differently about what an audience is. It made me notice which performance tactics are established to the point of losing their purpose and which methods that I use are individual to me. Focusing on audience interaction helped me to structure my choreography, while using the performance as a process form helped me to look at parts in relation to the whole.

You can watch excerpts from the performance here.
